Obituary of Jerry Glover Beasley

Mr. Jerry Glover Beasley, 81, of Ozark, died early Friday, April 29, 2016, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, May 2, 2016, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bill Montgomery and Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M.
Mr. Beasley was born October 23, 1934 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Robert Hobson Beasley and Nellie Glover Beasley. He was a graduate of Troy State University. He served in the United States Army National Guard and in 1961 was part of the mobilization to Fort Irwin, California for one year. Mr. Beasley was President of Beasley’s Inc. authorized Honda dealer for fifty-two years. He served his community in various capacities throughout the years including President of the Ozark/Dale County Chamber of Commerce, fifteen years on the Ozark City Board of Education, twelve years on the Ozark Utilities Board, twenty-five years on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Ozark, SouthTrust Bank in Ozark, two years as Chairman of the Alabama Retail Association, Board of Directors of the ARA Workers Comp Insurance Fund, Chairman of the Dale County Heart Fund, Dale County Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Wiregrass United Way. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-three years, Glenda Snellgrove Beasley, and his brother, Robert D. Beasley.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Steed Beasley of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Patrick Ramsey of Montgomery; four sons and one daughter-in-law, John P. Beasley, Robert I. “Bob” Beasley, Darren and Michele Paramore all of Ozark and Jeff Paramore of Atlanta; six grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Ramsey, Alexandra Beasley Ramsey, Julie Massey, Jordan E. Massey, Nason Paramore and Braeden Paramore; one sister-in-law, Mildred Beasley of Mims, Florida; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Edith Turner of Ozark.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
