Mrs. Payne was a native of Dale County and raised in Midland City, Alabama. She graduated from Newton High School and Vanderbilt University, where she received her degree in nursing. She retired following 20 years of nursing. She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, active with the homebound. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, working with pottery, and family activities; especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Alice Marshall Woodham and Jasper Woodham, her husband of 48 years, Jesse Payne, one sister, Edna Miller, and five brothers, Jasper R. Woodham, Joseph E. Woodham, Richard Thomas Woodham, Roy Tallmedge Woodham, and Billy Charles Woodham. Service Information
