Obituary of Sylvia Tarter Skelton

Mrs. Sylvia O. Tarter Skelton, 78, of Ozark, died Monday evening, February 13, 2017, in Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Thursday, February 16, 2017, in the Ozark Church of Christ with Preacher Justin Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Thursday from 12:30 P.M. until service time.
Mrs. Skelton was born May 11, 1938 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Leslie Jackson Tarter and Alma Raines Tarter. She was a life-long resident of Ozark where she worked as a secretary with White Knight Manufacturing Company and later as secretary to the Mayor of Ozark until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stancil Adrin Skelton; her son, Stan Harrington; and one brother, Edward Tarter.
Survivors include one daughter, Amy Lynn Harrington of Dothan; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Dean and Denise Harrington of Abbeville; two sisters, Jean Woodham and Nita Brown both of Ozark; one grandson, Tyler Dean Harrington; one great granddaughter, Ryleigh Grace Harrington.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Henry County Health and Rehabilitation and Complete Caregivers. A special thanks to Arlene, Erin, Shanta, and Ethel.
