Obituary of Annie Smith Crumpler

Mrs. Annie Smith Crumpler died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was 84. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, January 6, 2006, at Camp Ground Baptist Church with Reverend Al Sonanstine, Reverend Joe Crumpler, and Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mrs. Crumpler's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Friday. At other times they will be at the family home, 3889 East Andrews Avenue in Ozark. Mrs. Crumpler was born September 7, 1921, the youngest child and only daughter of the late Effie Sims Smith and Allison G. Smith. She lived in the Camp Ground Community, where she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a faithful member of Camp Ground Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Wyatt Crumpler, her son, James Wyatt "Jim" Crumpler, her great grandson, Morgan Brooks, and her brothers, Ramsey Smith, Albert Smith, Mitchell Smith, and Alvin G. "Tuck" Smith. Survivors include four daughters, Toni Juneau and her husband, Kenneth, Charlotte Hughes and her husband, Tony, of Ozark, Sue Johnson and her husband, Bill, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Cindy Neikov and her husband, Nick, of Clarksville, Tennessee, her daughter-in-law, Glenda Crumpler, Midland City. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cheryl Palmer and her husband, Lloyd, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lynn Bauldry, of Tooele, Utah, Jill Ezell and her husband, Don, of Ariton, Betsy Brooks and her husband, Chris, of Troy, Shawn Crumpler and his wife, Peggy, of Auburn, Jennifer and Stephanie Johnson of Alexandria, Virginia, and Alex Neikov of Clarksville, Tennessee. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Drew, Wes, and Jason Palmer, Joshua and Kiersten Bauldry, McKenzie and Tyler Ezell, and Cody and Justin Brooks, as well as a large extended family and many friends. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Camp Ground Baptist Church, 3898 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
