Mr. John David Danford, age 50, of Louisville died early Saturday morning, July 23, 2005, in Louisville following an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from Elam Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Underwood and Reverend Kenneth Earles officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Tuesday evening. Mr. Danford was a native of Ozark, Alabama, having lived in Louisville since 1980 where he was a member of Elam Baptist Church. Mr. Danford served in the United States Navy for twelve years and then enlisted in the Army Reserves where he served until his retirement in 2002 from the 421st Quartermaster Company. He received the following awards and medals: Army Service Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal 2nd Award, Army Achievement Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16, and Army Lapel Button. He was a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm. Mr. Danford was employed with Georgia Pacific Lumber Company for the past five years and prior to that with Boyd Brothers Trucking in Clayton, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Mae Middlebrooks Danford and William Talmadge Danford, Sr. Survivors include his son, William Danford, Milton, Florida, four brothers, William T. "Bill" Danford, Calabash,North Carolina, Robert Danford, Childersburg, Alabama, O'Neal Danford and Brooks Danford, Louisville, Alabama. father-in-law and mother-in-law: Benny and Doloris Baxley, Milton, Florida, granddaughter, Gabrielle Danford, Milton, FL girlfriend, Misty Metcalf, Louisville, nieces, Shanna and MaeLissa Danford, nephew, Robert Danford. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Elam Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 55 Danny Road, Ariton, Alabama 36311, or to the American Diabetics Association, P.O.
