Obituary of Mildred Bullard Whitehead

Mrs. Mildred Anne Bullard Whitehead, age 88, of Ozark, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, June 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Whitehead was born September 19, 1925 in Elba, Alabama to the late Alton Foster Bullard and Una V. Reddock Bullard. She had made her home in Ozark since the early 1940’s where she was a member of Ozark Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitehead was an avid bridge player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, George Edward “Edd” Whitehead and one brother, Frank Bullard.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, George Edward “Eddie” Whitehead, II and Diana J. Whitehead of Newton;
four grandchildren, Eddie and Shannon Whitehead of the Bertha Community, Scott Whitehead of Eufaula, Brad and DeDe Whitehead of Dothan, Amy and Jason Kirkland of Rehoboth; and one special niece, Mariann Bullard. Eight great grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
