Obituary of Billy Darrell Peters

Mr. Billy Darrell Peters, age 82, of Ozark, died Monday morning, January 6, 2014, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Timothy Davis, Reverend William Todd, and Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Mossy Grove Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Peters was born July 12, 1931 in Dale County to the late Rassie and Matilda Godwin Peters. He was engaged in agriculture and was an auctioneer. Mr. Peters was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Marjorie Edmonds Peters; his son, Larry Wayne Peters; four sisters, Frances Blocker, Bessie Goodson, Annie Merle Andrews, and Eva Paramore; and five brothers, Fred Peters, E. R. "Doc" Peters, R. E. Peters, Collis Peters, and Louie Peters. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Stan McDaniel, Brenda and A. J. Cochran all of Ozark; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Denise Peters, Lamar Peters, Robert and Paige Peters all of Ozark; nine grandchildren, Jared Peters, Zandi Foss, Tiffany Peters, Leslie Peters, Kennedy Peters, Justin Peters, William Peters, Austin Cochran, and Hayes McDaniel. Seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
