Obituary of Phillip E. Makowski

Mr. Phillip E. Makowski, age 52, of Ozark, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, June 19, 2010, from St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Egbe, Reverend Charles McCabe, and Deacon John Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Friday evening. Mr. Makowski was born February 1, 1958 in San Marcos, Texas to Theresa Zyla Makowski and the late Frank Anthony Makowski. He served honorably in the United States Coast Guard. Phil was known by all who knew and met him as a kind, gracious, honorable, caring individual with unmatched devotion to his family and his Church. Survivors include his mother, Theresa Makowski of Ozark; his companion, Trita Corbitt of Ozark; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nicholas Edward and Meagan Makowski of Waialua, Hawaii, David Anthony Makowski attending The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Suzanne and Wes Walters of Alexandria, Virginia, Marcia and Garry Castelli of Belleville, Illinois, Mary and Marlin Brandon of Ozark; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Makowski of Rociada, New Mexico. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, P. O.
