Mr. Peyton Marvin Swords, age 73, of Daleville, died Monday, November 16, 2009, in Medical Center Enterprise. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Swords at 10:00 A. M. Friday, November 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Swords was born October 6, 1936 in Early County, Georgia to the late Emma Lee Dykes Swords and Pearlie Mack Swords. He served in the United States Air Force for ten years and the United States Army for thirteen years; he later worked as a government contractor. Mr. Swords was a member of VFW Post 6020 in Daleville. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole Barker of Daleville, Tracy and William Pittman of Pelham, Alabama, and Kim Holliday of Greer, South Carolina; two sons and daughter-in-law, Duncan Eric and Connie Swords of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and Gary Arnold Swords of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother, Bob Swords; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred and Max Caffey, Melba Duncan, Nell and Robert Spurlock, and Faye Calahate; nine grandchildren, Eric Swords, Brandy C. Swords-May, Justin C. Swords, Wesley A. Bell, Brooke Walden, Samantha K. Hatcher, Kelsey L. Hatcher, Ashley D. Odom, and Emma G. Barker. Twelve great grandchildren also survive. Service Information
