SFC Richard Roberson (United States Army, Retired), age 78, of Ozark, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, October 26, 2012, from St. Paul AME Church in Ozark with Reverend Fred Flowers, Reverend Titus Cummings, and Reverend David E. Reddick officiating. Interment will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M. SFC Richard Roberson was born September 19, 1934 in Daleville, Alabama to the late Noah and Bessie Faulk Roberson. He graduated from D.A. Smith High School and served honorably in the United States Army for twenty-two years until his retirement in 1975, which included Vietnam. He was an active member of St. Paul A.M.E Church and loved to sing in the choir. Richard was a member of the Masonic Lodge and The American Legion. He loved to fish and was an avid walker. Survivors include one niece, Karen (James) Bohanon of Copperas Cove, Texas; one sister, Arizona Page of Orlando, Florida; one brother-in-law, Joe Griffin of Ozark; seven great nieces and nephews, Yakisa Page, Derrick Ogunade, Eric Ogunade, Joey Griffin, Sherelle Griffin-Ramirez, Veronica Bohanon and Christopher Bohanon; five great-great nieces and nephews, Jamirah Ogunade, Isaiah Griffin, Mikayla Ramirez, Jacob Ramirez and Jayden Griffin; and a host of relatives and friends.
