Obituary of Harry G. Power

Mr. Harry G. Power, age 89, of Jackson, Alabama, formerly of Ozark, died Thursday evening, August 12, 2010.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, August 14, 2010, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 P. M. Saturday until service time.
Mr. Power was born March 31, 1921 in Newton to the late Major Sibert Power and Annie Adora Mixon Power. He was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in 1949. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service and Farmers Home Adminstration. Mr. Power was an avid fan of Auburn football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Salome Harris Power of Jackson, Alabama;
one daughter and son-in-law, Millie and Chris Doggett of Jackson, Alabama;
one sister, Lena Enfinger of Ozark;
grandchildren, Scott and Sara Doggett of Jackson, Alabama, Patrick and Megan Doggett of Spanish Fort, Alabama;
and one great grandson, Jack Doggett of Jackson, Alabama.
