Obituary of Marguerite Olofsson Dunn

Mrs. Marguerite "Peggy" Olofsson Dunn, age 89, of Ozark, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at her home. A memorial service for Mrs. Dunn will be held at 3:00 P. M. Saturday, January 4, 2014, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Interment will be in Westview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 1:30 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Dunn was born November 8, 1924 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Oscar Fredrick Olofsson and Laureine Ballentine Olofsson. She graduated from Peabody College in Nashville, and following her marriage to Jimmy Dunn moved to Ozark in 1946. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Carroll "Jimmy" Dunn, Sr., and her son, Oscar Luther "Luke" Dunn. Survivors three sons and three daughters-in-law, James C. Dunn, Jr. and Karen of Newport News, Virginia, William Bray and Cindy Dunn of Ozark, John Arthur "Johnny" and Martha Dunn of Ozark; three grandchildren, James Christopher Dunn, John Arthur Dunn, Jr., and Kimberly Michelle Dunn; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Aaron Dunn and Katy Arianna Dunn; and one sister, Laureine Hertenstein of Atlanta, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360; Boy Scouts of America Troop 20, C/O Mr. Charlie Dawkins, 205 Sansbury Lane, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to Westview Memorial Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 484, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
