Obituary of Wilde Galvão Strickland

Mrs. Wilde Galvão Strickland, age 86, of Ozark, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, August 4, 2013, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Steve King officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:00 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Strickland was born July 2, 1927 in Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil to the late Orlando Rangel Torres Galvão and Maria Isaura Pimentel Galvão. She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sonia Pimentel Galvão dos Santos Albuquerque; and two brothers, Webb Pimentel Torres Galvão and Jairo Pimentel Torres Galvão. Survivors include her husband, Harold S. Strickland of Ozark; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Vera Ligia Grover (Larry) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Tania Maria Herbert (Jack) of New Brockton, Alabama, and Sheila Ann Strickland of Winder, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney Winston Strickland (Scotti) of Orlando, Florida and Kenneth Webb Strickland (Peggy Jo) of San Diego, California; three sisters, Walkyria Pimentel Galvão Pereira (Paulo Branco Pereira), Nisia Pimentel Torres Galvão (Jose` Jayme Ubarana), and Selma Pimentel Galvão Pombeiro, one brother and sister-in-law, Wharton Pimentel Torres Galvão and Celene Lobato Galvão; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
