Obituary of Ruby Bowman Searcy

Mrs. Ruby Bowman Searcy, age 86, of Ariton died Friday afternoon, November 30, 2007. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, December 3, 2007, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Isom Hill officiating and Reverend William Hart assisting. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 12:30 P. M. Monday until service time at 2:00 P. M. Mrs. Searcy was born November 9, 1921 in Dale County to the late William Littleberry Bowman and Mamie Dubose Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Edgar Searcy, five sisters, Elma Gunter, Martha Logan, Maudie Langford, Nora Hall, and Beatrice Vaughn, four brothers, Synthia Bowman, Loyd Bowman, Fletcher Bowman, and Lemmie Bowman. Survivors include one daughter, Marie Cumbie of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Norman E. and Peggy Searcy of Ozark; one brother, Edwin Bowman of Dothan; seven grandchildren, Danny Cumbie, Chris Cumbie, Jeff Searcy, Randy Searcy, Dwayne Searcy, Jason Searcy, and B. J. Wise; ten great grandchildren, Chelsi Cumbie, Blake Cumbie, Gage Cumbie, Sam Searcy, Bryce Searcy, Georgia Searcy, Josh Searcy,Dustin Searcy, Nicholas Searcy, and Isiah Searcy. One great-great grandchild also survives.
