Obituary of Julius Samuel Craven

Mr. Julius Samuel Craven, III, age 61, of Ariton, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, November 14, 2009, from the First Baptist Church in Monroeville, Alabama with Reverend Glenn Eubanks and Reverend David Walsh officiating. Interment will be in Andress Cemetery in Monroeville, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at church from 12:00 Noon Saturday until service time.
Mr. Craven was born April 4, 1948 in Mobile County, Alabama to the late Julius Samuel Craven, Jr. and Myrtice Byrd Andress Craven. He made his home in Monroeville and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He moved to Ariton in 2008 where he was a member of Ariton Baptist Church. Mr. Craven was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Green Craven in 2003.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Bell Craven of Ariton;
two daughters and one son-in-law, Carlie Craven and her fiance, Jay Meredith of Titus, Alabama, Daunika and William Womack of Monroeville, Alabama;
two sons, Jarrod Craven of Monroeville, Alabama, and Jamie Craven of Troy;
two grandchildren, Tyler Womack and Karighan Womack;
two stepdaughters, Cecily Sauls of Pensacola, Florida, and Bellamie Price of Fairhope, Alabama;
one brother and sister-in-law, Mitch and Rose Craven of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Idiopathic Division, 1332 North Halsted Street, Suite 201, Chicago, Illinois 60642-2642.
