Obituary of Marion Dale Ewell

Mr. Marion Dale "Barney" Ewell, age 85, of Newton, died Friday, January 10, 2014. Funeral services will be graveside at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Tom Anderson and Reverend Danny Williams officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Ewell was born September 21, 1928 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to the late Marion Davis Ewell and Thyra Cornelia Huddleston. He served in the United States Marine Corps prior to graduating from Oklahoma A & M University. Mr. Ewell then joined the United States Army, where he was a pilot and retired following twenty years of service. Following is military service, he was a flight instructor at Fort Rucker where he also retired following twenty years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Margaret Cargile Ewell; and two sisters, Evelyn McRee and Doris Tucker. Survivors include his son, Marion Eugene "Gene" Ewell of Dothan. Service Information
