Mrs. Helen Frances Maund Deese, age 88, of Ozark, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy West officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mrs. Deese was born October 18, 1923 in Dale County to the late Samuel Jasper Maund and Mallie Vera Woodham Maund. She had worked with Andrews Drugs, White Knight Manufacturing Company and Alabama Aviation Technical College in Ozark. Mrs. Deese was an active member of Chalkhead Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Eugene Deese; three sisters, Irene Riley, Ruth Bowman, and Betty Hayes; two brothers, Elmer Maund and Robert (Bob) Maund. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Reta and Robert Dyson of Ozark, Nancy and Romano Spinelli of Hoover; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Louise and Stanton Hughes, Jeanette Coaker; one brother and sister-in-law, Sam Maund, II and Frances.
