Mrs. Kathryn Dell Lindsay DeFord, 64, of Ozark, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at the home of her daughter. A memorial service for Mrs. DeFord will be held 10:30 A. M. Thursday, February 19, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Tim Sewell officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Mrs. DeFord was born December 17, 1950 in Montgomery, Alabama to Kathryn Ammons Lindsay and the late Raymond Lindsay. She was a graduate of Carroll High School. Following her marriage to Joseph Timothy DeFord, they moved to Jackson Gap, Alabama. They owned and operated Hillabee Stop and Shop in Alexander City for over ten years. After the death of her son, she moved back to Ozark. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Timothy DeFord; and her son, Nick DeFord. Survivors include her mother, Kathryn Ammons Lindsay; one daughter, Sherri Lowery; and two grandchildren, Cherisa Marie Lowery and Raymond Drake Lowery, all of Ozark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, 579 Bivins Drive, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
