Obituary of James Douglas Cook

Mr. James Douglas "Doug" Cook, age 62, of Skipperville, died Saturday morning, September 29, 2012, in Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend James Pearson and Reverend Jennifer Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Doug was born December 29, 1949 in Dale County. He was a member of the first graduating class of G. W. Long High School in 1968. He worked with the Champion International Paper Company until it closed. Since that time he worked with the West Barbour Water Authority. He was preceded in death by his father, James Martin Cook; two sisters, Dorothy Marie Cook and Shirley Ann Cook.
Survivors include his wife Clara Mizell Cook of Skipperville;
one daughter, Jamie Marie Cook of Skipperville;
one son and daughter-in-law, David Adrian and Tracy Cook of Ariton;
his mother, Dorothy Watson Cook of Skipperville;
two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Gilbert "Don" and Linda Cook of Dothan, Tommy Ray and Kathy Cook of Skipperville;
four grandchildren, Chyenne Cook, Caitlin Edwards, Madison Edwards, and Haley Edwards.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
