Obituary of William Lathyett Dykes

Mr. William Lathyett Dykes, age 78, of Dothan, formerly of the Echo Community, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Andy Wood and Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating. Interment will follow in Echo United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.
Mr. Dykes was born November 29, 1934 in Dale County to the late Lee Roy and Sally Mae Ammons Dykes. Following his service in the United States Army, he worked as a Textile Mill Manager with West Point Stevens in Abbeville until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Murphy; and one brother, Jay Hugh Dykes.
Survivors include his wife, Willa Dean Bostick Dykes of Dothan;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Edna Dykes of Dothan, Terry and Angie Dykes of Newton;
four grandchildren, Alexander Troy Dykes, Arica Cherie Dykes, Martha Elizabeth Dykes, and Hannah Grace Dykes.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
