Obituary of Herbert Casey Prestwood

Mr. Herbert Casey Prestwood, age 41, of Ariton, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, January 15, 2011, from Ariton Baptist Church with Reverend David Walsh officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Prestwood was the owner of C. P. Cabinetry and Woodworking, which he established in 2000. He was employed with the Sony Corporation from 1989 until 2005, and with Army Fleet Support at Fort Rucker from 2005 until 2010. He found great enjoyment spending time with family and friends and was an avid Alabama fan. He was especially devoted to his son, daughter, and wife of 23 years. Mr. Prestwood is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward Lamar and Essie Malon Gulledge; and his paternal grandfather, Hubert Prestwood, Sr. Mr. Prestwood is survived by his wife, Tammy Black Prestwood; his children, Kelsey Chadwick Prestwood and Kayce Celeste Prestwood; his paternal grandmother, Geraldine Prestwood; his parents, Hubert "Butch" Prestwood, Jr. and Mary Joyce Prestwood; his sisters, Beverly (Keith) Windham, Marcia Prestwood, and Paige (Robert) Peters. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to thank AlaCare Home Health and Hospice of Troy for the care given during his illness; especially hospice nurse, Jody Dawkins.
