Obituary of Juanita Maddox Forbes

Mrs. Juanita Maddox Forbes, age 62, of New Brockton, received her wings Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Friday, December 23, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Stanley Key and Reverend Kerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery at Mixson's Cross Roads, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Forbes was born September 27, 1949 in Coffee County. She was employed by Ozark Striping for eleven years until she became disabled. Mrs. Forbes loved working with her hands, crafting and collecting all miniature items, and enjoyed fishing. She was of the Baptist faith, attending several churches in the area. She dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed all being together. She was preceded in death by her father, James Monroe Maddox; and her son, Mitchell Bassett.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Forbes of New Brockton;
two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Bill Wardlaw of Douglasville, Georgia, Shannon and Jay Maze of Ariton;
four sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael Bassett of Tampa, Florida, James D. and Tammy Forbes of Ozark, Chris and Valerie Forbes of Ozark, Shane and Stacy Forbes of Ariton;
her mother, Della R. Cole of Midland City; one sister, Genary Maddox of Ozark.
Seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
