Obituary of Joanne E. Jenkins

Mrs. Joanne E. Jenkins, age 68, of Ozark, died Sunday night, March 8, 2009 in Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, March 13, 2009, from the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ozark with Reverend Stewart Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mrs. Jenkins was born September 1, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Clarence and Emily Kerlin Senderhauf. She and her husband, Robert W. Jenkins were married in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, and traveled stateside and abroad while he served in the United States Army. She was an avid Auburn football fan, and enjoyed knitting, sewing, and reading. She was a member of The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ozark, and President of The Dorcas Guild Women's Organization for the last six years. Mrs. Jenkins was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Robert W. Jenkins of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Reggie Leslie of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Rainey Jenkins of West Lafayette, Indiana, John and Jennifer Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Jane Jensen of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Jessica Leslie, Jacob Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins, Jena Jenkins, and Makenzye Jenkins; special friends, Dennis and Nancy Maxwell of Enterprise; and their children, Amanda, Emily, and Nicholas Heick.
