Obituary of William Thomas Brown

Mr. William Thomas Brown, age 87, of Ozark, died early Saturday morning, August 27, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Monday, August 29, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Tom Skeen officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
Mr. Brown was born March 7, 1924 in Dale County to the late Ruben F. Brown and Callie Lula Willis Brown. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Brown worked with Brown Manufacturing Company as a foreman and purchasing agent, retiring following over 40 years of service. He was a member of Mabson United Methodist Church, an avid bird watcher and gardener. He enjoyed tending to his yard and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Brown; three brothers, Hubert "Hub" Brown, Eugene Brown, and Ruben Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Tommie Trawick Brown of Ozark;
one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ray Shelley of Ozark;
one son and daughter-in-law, Ritchie and Sybil Brown of Ozark;
four grandchildren, Michelle Brown, Brad Shelley, Chrissy Prescott, and Stacie Rogie.
Three great grandchildren also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Box 2127, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
