Obituary of Robert Fred Rogers

Mr. Robert Fred Rogers, age 79, of Ozark, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, May 11, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Greg Doss and Pastor Tim Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Ewell Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Rogers was born June 12, 1933 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Emanuel A. Rogers and Mable Walker Rogers. He served in the United States Army and later worked as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Fred Rogers, Jr.; two sisters, Corene Miller and Nellie Casey; four brothers, Billy Rogers, Johnny Rogers, Allen Rogers, and Don Rogers. Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathy and Baxter Ethridge of Wicksburg, Martha Sammuli of Horton, Alabama, Mable and Frank Ferry of Roswell, Georgia, Wanda and Mike Gumpenberger of Ozark, and Teresa Ann Cook of Midland City; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Allen and Donna Rogers of Ozark, Richard Rogers of Skipperville, Johnny and Paige Rogers of Skipperville, and Rusty Rogers of Midland City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mae Opal and Robert Munn of Ozark, Maxine and Johnny Wood of Skipperville; three special sisters-in-law, Mallie Rogers, Rae Rogers, and Velma Dickerson; eighteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
