Obituary of Orman Vonguy Turner

Mr. Orman Vonguy “O. V.” Turner, age 96, of Ozark, died Thursday, December 12, 2013, at his home with his family at his side. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, December 16, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Harry Circle and Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Ground Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Mr. Turner was born July 19, 1917 in Ozark to the late Samuel David Turner and Luna Verl Smith Turner. He was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher for twenty-five years. Mr. Turner worked at Fort Rucker with various contractors for thirty-five years until his retirement. He was a Master Mason and member of Ozark Masonic Lodge #349. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jewell Beasley Turner; one son, Steve Turner; along with nine brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Turner and Ernest Warskow of Ozark; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Andrew and Delores Turner of Malvern, AL, Norman Turner and Kella Turner of Ozark; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Albert and Virginia Turner of Ocean Springs, MS.
