Sergeant Major Marion Lee Cason (United States Army, Retired) age 88, of Ozark, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Doug Crosby officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
Sergeant Major Cason was born November 30, 1925 in Talladega, Alabama to the late Lee Grant Cason and Rosa Lee Welcher Cason. He served in the United States Army during World War II, The Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War, retiring with over twenty-eight years of service. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, serving as President and Chaplain. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Ludemia Sutphin Cason; and one son, Marion Wayne Cason.
Survivors include one son, Michael Cason of Ozark;
two sisters, Clara Edwards of Garden Dale and Dorothy Chandler of Talladega.
