Obituary of Stanley Keith Jones

Mr. Stanley Keith Jones, age 49, of Echo, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, January 28, 2012, from Newton Baptist Church with Reverend Benji Johnson and Keith's uncle, Reverend Larry Glass officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Jones was born October 23, 1962 in Mobile, Alabama and moved to Newton in 1966. He was a graduate of Wallace Community College with the first Associates Degree in Machine Shop, and then worked as an instructor at the college. Mr. Jones worked with Sony and Dunbarton Industries in Dothan, and at the Ozark Aviation College in Ozark in their tool room. He was a member of the Newton Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir and was a soloist. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising cattle. His vibrant personality charmed everyone that came into contact with him. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Francis Jones in 2011. Survivors include his fiance, Sharon Wright of Echo; one son, Elliott Jones of Birmingham; his mother, Patricia Glass Jones of Echo; one sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Rick Strack of Monticello, Illinois; one niece, Olivia and Geoffrey Klein of Maysville, North Carolina; one nephew, Alex O'Donnell of Newton.
