Mr. Julian Hall “J. B.” Brown, age 69, of Ozark, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from the First United Methodist Church in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend John D. Reese, III officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Brown was born November 13, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late W. C. “Bill” Brown and Theo Hall Brown. He was a graduate of Darlington School in Rome, Georgia and Auburn University. He served for four years in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he returned to Ozark where he was involved in business with the Commercial Bank of Ozark, L. A. East Productions, Nextel Wireless, and WOZK and WOAB Radio Stations. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Dale Moates of Ozark; two grandchildren, Hannah Moates and Will Moates of Ozark. Numerous cousins also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westview Memorial Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 484, Ozark, Alabama 36361; or to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, P. O. Box 2502, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
