Obituary of Clara Inez Phillips

Ms. Clara (Inez) Stokes Phillips, age 106, of Elamville, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013. Funeral services will be graveside at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Elamville, AL, with Rev. J.C. Turner officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Ms. Phillips was born May 18, 1907 in Barbour County to the late Jessie Pink Stokes and Perler Mae Robinette Stokes. She was a life-long resident of the Elamville Community, and was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Elamville, Alabama. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bunyan Phillips; a son, Shelby Phillips and wife Mary; a daughter-in-law, Linda Phillips; a grandson, Dennis Phillips; three sisters, Florence Stokes, Annie Lee Evans and Mae Faulk; four brothers, Otis Stokes, Abbie J. Stokes, Bill Stokes, Shellie Mike Stokes. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette (Jerrell) Harden of Banks, AL; two sons, Foy (Catherine) Phillips of Elamville, AL, Lavon (Helen) Phillips of Banks AL; grandchildren, Russell Harden of Banks, AL, Rita (Pat) Lunsford of Atlanta, GA, Denise (Tom) Murdock of Skipperville, AL, Linda Karen (Denny) Faulk of Enterprise, AL, Tammy (Rob) Chester of Evans, GA, Lee Phillips of Helena, AL, Chris (Kim) Phillips of Columbus, GA, Shannon (Richard) Cobb of Warner Robbins, GA; great-grandchildren, Julien Lunsford, Brandon Dansby, Justin Murdock, Brandon Phillips, Matthew, Sarah and Andrew Chester, Alyssa and Sidney Phillips, Kylie and McKenzie Cobb, Trent and Drew Harden.
