Obituary of Mamie Ruth Howell

Mrs. Mamie Ruth Howell, 82, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Monday, February 4, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Howell was a lifelong resident of Ozark. She owned several small businesses throughout her life, and also worked as a caregiver for several years. She was an avid animal lover. Her passion was caring for her pets, especially her Yorkshire Terriers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elma and Midge Gunter; and her brother, Willie Gunter. Survivors include four children, Judy Howell (husband Roger) Coots, Dale Howell Boynton, James "Eddie" Howell, Roxie Howell (husband Bill) Riley, all of Ozark; grandchildren, Ashley (fiancee Melissa Brown) Barker, Terra (Darrell) Densel, Brooke (Steve) Jones, Becky Hemphill, Bo (Tracy) Boynton, Amy (Miles) Vail, Shaunna (Rob) Hurley, Chase Riley, Roger S. Coots; great grandchildren, Lacy Densel, Summer Densel, Luke Densel, Cody Hemphill, Austin Cannon, Rayah Baldwin, Dallas Baldwin, Ethan Hurley, Jordan Hurley, Wyn Hurley, Kade Smith, Tyler White, Cheyanne Boynton, Nathaniel Boynton, Ethan Brown, Brandon Brown, Lexie Brown, Alex Brown, Summer Coots, Sean Coots; one great-great grandchild; Gabriel Lozano. Several cousins and other relatives also survive, along with her very dear friend Kathleen Grimes. The family would like to thank the staff of Ozark Health and Rehabilitation, Dale Medical Center Hospice, and Dr. Connie Chandler for the care and support they gave us during our mother's illness.
