Mr. Howell was born March 26, 1943 in Enterprise, and has lived in Ozark since the late 1960's. He served in the United States Army for eight years; including two tours of duty in Vietnam, one as a medic and one as a pilot. He was a past Chief of Police in Ariton. He worked with the United States Postal Service in Ozark and retired following 18 years of service. He was a member of Stonebridge Church of God for 14 years and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, an avid fisherman and Alabama football fan. He loved his family and Church.
