Obituary of Mary Johnson Nobles

Mrs. Mary Clyde Johnson Nobles, 84, of Ozark, died Friday, August 14, 2015, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, August 17, 2015 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Scott Moffitt officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Richardson, Jarrod Ward, Jared Jernegan, Wally Olsen, David Cook, and Michael Willis.
Mrs. Nobles was born July 10, 1931 in Barbour County to the late William Franklin Levi Johnson and Lula Phillips Johnson. She loved to cook, sew, make quilts, and play dominos and scrabble. She enjoyed teaching others to play dominos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ace Nobles, Jr.; sisters and brothers, Roy Alvin Johnson, Mattie Ruth Johnson Wilkinson, Lamar Joseph Johnson, Dorothy LaMerle Johnson Thompson, Dwight L. Johnson, Ralph Johnson, Lucille Johnson Godwin, Grace Johnson Chancy McKee, Willodene (Mary) Johnson Snell, and Cecil LaDon Johnson.
Survivors include one son, David Nobles of Skipperville; two grandchildren, Kim Nobles Goode (Tim) of Skipperville and Kristi Nobles Shipes (Mark) of Dothan; great grandchildren, Timothy Goode and Jordan Goode of Skipperville, Hunter Shipes and Fisher Shipes of Dothan; a special nephew, Phillip Snell of Ozark; three sisters-in-law, Grace Hagler, Shirley Cooper, and Mattie Ruth Johnson Tadlock. Many other nieces and nephews also survive.
