Obituary of Thelma Kitchen Martin

Mrs. Thelma Faye Kitchen Martin, 90, of Ozark, died Saturday, April 4, 2015. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, April 13, 2015, from Ozark Presbyterian Church with Reverend Frank Ellis and Reverend John D. Reese, III officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home in Ozark from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Ozark Presbyterian Church, 187 S. East Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360. Mrs. Martin was born January 30, 1925 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to the late Mark Twain Kitchen and Faye Thelma Wallace Kitchen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LTC (U. S. Army, Retired) Jack Martin and sisters, Elizabeth Jane Cole and Joyce Lee Golledge. She served as Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Ft. Rucker Elementary School until her retirement in 1990. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Danny Tarter of Ozark, Jane Anne and Wendell R. Gideon of Columbia, MO; sisters, Margaret Ruth Allen of Torrance, CA, Lou Anne Langerock (Gordon) of Independence, MO; grandchildren, David J. Tarter (Tisha), Kristine M. Free (Larry), Ozark, and Jennifer Anne Gideon, Chicago, IL; great-grandchildren, Jack-Riley, Brody, Layla, and Kathryn. Much gratitude is extended to the caring staff at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation and to her faithful friend and caregiver, Agnes Lucas. Service Information
