Obituary of James B. Sheffield

OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK Ozark, Alabama 334?774?5348 Mr. James Bryan "Jimmy" Sheffield, age 69, of Ozark, died peacefully Wednesday morning, May 6, 2009, at his home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, May 9, 2009, from Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church on East Broad Street in Ozark with Reverend John Wesley Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 4:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Friday afternoon. Mr. Sheffield was born May 5, 1940 in Panama City, Florida to the late Jesse Alex and Willie J. Johnson Sheffield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the Mother of his children, Pamela Wells Sheffield. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Powell Sheffield of Ozark; one daughter, Kathryn Sheffield Garner of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Katy Bailey Sheffield of Dothan; two step-children, Michael Charles Dixon, Jr. and wife, Hope Cotton Dixon of Eufaula, Claudia Powell Balkcom and husband, Henry Lewis Balkcom, IV of Georgetown, Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Peggy Sheffield of Dothan. Ten grandchildren and one expected soon . Three nieces and two nephews also survive. Serving as casketbearers will be Sam Patton, Charles Holman, Joe W. Adams, Kenny Whatley, Stan Garner, Jim Trimm, Lan Darty and Wilton Thompson. Honorary pallbearer will be James Lisenby. The family requests the omission of flowers.
