Mrs. Johnie Elsie Carr, 84, of Ozark died Saturday evening October 29, 2005 in the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, November 1, 2005, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend J. C. Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Mabson Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Monday evening. Mrs. Carr was born July 4, 1921 in Pike County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Floyd Carr in 1978. Survivors include her daughter, Johnnie Mae Dickey, Troy, three sons, W. F. Carr, Ozark, John Carr and his wife, Kathy, Ariton, Thomas Carr and his wife, Margaret, Ariton, a special niece, Lucille Simmons, Ozark, one brother-in-law, Bill Carr, Ozark, 15 grandchildren, Mary Jean Baggett, William A. Baggett, Billy Ray Baggett, Patricia Williams, Pat Dickey, Jr., Tanya Barron, Ronnie Carr, Jessie Carr, Jessica Carr, Jeartha Smith, Debrah Jean Hamby, John Hamby, Shellie Chapman, Lisa Ward, and Jesse Hugh Hamby, and 15 great grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mabson Cemetery Fund, C/O Mrs. Gerotha Heath, 657 South County Road 20, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
