Obituary of Frankie Boydstun

Mr. Frankie Boydstun, a resident of Newton, died at his home April 13, 2005, following an extended illness. He was 70. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, April 16, 2005, from Newton Baptist Church with Reverend Peter Tilbe and Reverend Charles Kerby officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Friday evening. Mr. Boydstun was born May 31, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma, and served in the United States Army. He moved to Alabama in 1954 when Army Aviation flight training was consolidated and moved to Fort Rucker, and worked with various aircraft maintenance contractors at Fort Rucker until his retirement following 43 years of service. Mr. Boydstun was a faithful member and Deacon of Newton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Frank Boydstun in 1977. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Johnson Boydstun, Newton, two sons, Ronald Boydstun and wife, Donna, Daleville, and Brian Boydstun, Nashville, Tennessee, two grandchildren, Steven Boydstun and Lauren Boydstun, Daleville, his mother, Verdie Hughes; one sister, Shirley Morse; one brother, Troy Boydstun and wife, Betty, all of Lawton, Oklahoma. Three nieces and two nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Newton Baptist Church, P. O. Box 97, Newton, Alabama 36352.
