Obituary of William James Bright

Mr. William James Bright, age 80, of Ozark, died Thursday morning, June 7, 2007, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Monday, June 11, 2007 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with United States Army Chaplain Vance Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:30 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon. Mr. Bright was born March 11, 1927 in Dalton, Georgia to the Ida Mae Leonard Bright and Floyd Scott Bright. He served in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and three tours in Vietnam, retiring following over 28 years of service. He then worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker until his retirement there. Mr. Bright was a member of Newton Masonic Lodge #224. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bright was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley (Sam) Mitchell. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nellie Durden Bright of Ozark, one daughter, Kathy Bright of Ozark, a son like friend and domino playing buddy, Mitchell Snellgrove of Ozark, one son, William James Bright, Jr. of Ozark, one granddaughter, Suzanne Dunn of Ozark, two brothers, Floyd Scott Bright and Marvin Bright of Dalton, Georgia. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
