Mrs. Mildred "Polly" Simmons, 86, of the Rocky Head Community of Ariton, died Saturday morning, March 12, 2005, in a Dothan hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, March 14, 2005, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ron Jackson, Reverend Joe Underwood, and Reverend Jeff Downing officiating. Interment will follow in Universalist Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 1:00 P. M. Monday until service time at 2:00 P. M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Sav-A-Life, 1105 US 231 South, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Mrs. Simmons was a native of the Rocky Head Community of Ariton. She worked at the glove factory in Brundidge and Ala-Tex shirt factory in Troy, retiring in 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Simmons; son, Milton Simmons; two sisters, Eunice Ezell and Dorothy Ziglar; three brothers, Porter Ziglar, Claude Ziglar, and Dick Ziglar; her parents Walter and Annie Stokes Ziglar. Mrs. Simmons was very active in Rocky Head Baptist Church, her community, and loved to be around people. Survivors include two daughters, Judy and Gail Simmons of the Rocky Head Community. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
