Obituary of Carroll Eugene Jackson

Mr. Carroll Eugene Jackson, age 78, of Ozark, died Monday evening, October 29, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, November 1, 2007, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Aman and Reverend William B. Easterling officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. His body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday evening. Mr. Jackson was born October 26, 1929 in Ariton to the late Vassie Browning Jackson and Adam Harper Jackson. Following his graduation from Ariton High School in May 1948, he worked with Pea River Electric Cooperative for over 41 years retiring in February 1990. He served in the United States Army in Japan during the Korean Conflict, and was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4448. Mr. Jackson served on the Ozark Utilities Board for 7 1/2 years. He was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Gloria Harrison Jackson; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Morgan Jackson, Eugene and Amy Jackson; two grandchildren, Adam and Breanna Jackson, all of Ozark; one sister, Nell Ruth Jones of Ariton; one brother, Harper Jack Jackson of Ariton; two nieces, Jennifer Whitman and Becky Burton; one nephew, Tony Jackson. Serving as pallbearers will be: Adam Jackson, Trawick Garner, Dave Howell, James Howell, Joe Howell, and Dan Sowell. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jack Jones and all past and present employees of Pea River Electric Cooperative. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church Family Life Center, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark 36360, or to Wiregrass Hospice, P. O. Box 2127, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
