Mr. William T. "Bill" Miller, age 86, of Ozark, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at his home following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, November 23, 2007, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Randy Taylor, Reverend W. L. Sheffield, and Reverend Roger Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Thursday afternoon. Mr. Miller was born August 21, 1921 in Dale County to the late Harris Wilburn and Jessie Reba Gamble Miller. He served in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War, retiring as a veteran of 28 years. Mr. Miller worked with Hayes International at Napier Field as an aircraft mechanic for thirteen years. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Reba Wright; and three brothers, Jessie B. Miller, Russell Miller, and Martell McGee. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jewell Key Miller of Ozark; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and LaDon Portwood, Debbie and Larry Powell, Barbara and Clarence Metcalf all of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, William and Rebecca Miller of Ozark; one sister, Mallie Rogers of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Leslie Kirkland of Clermont, Florida, Craig Portwood, Chad Powell and Lynsey Powell of Ozark, John Seifert of Madison, Alabama, Danielle McGuire, Allison Wise, Michael Metcalf, Maggi Miller, Betsy Miller, and Baylor Miller all of Ozark; five great grandchildren, Emily Ann Powell, Dawson Kirkland, Tristan McGuire, Cameron and Jay Metcalf. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center. They would also like to thank his special caregivers: Sally Smith, Donna Reeners, and Grace Weaver.
