Obituary of John L. Bludsworth

Mr. John L. Bludsworth, age 86, of Daleville, died Monday morning, November 21, 2005, at his home following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Robert Beasley officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Tuesday evening. Mr. Bludsworth was born January 26, 1919 in Dale County to the late Ellie Yohn Bludsworth and Bill Bludsworth. He attended George W. Long School and served in the United States Navy for one year prior to moving to Ozark and Daleville. Mr. Bludsworth farmed for Mrs. Marie Donnell for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his yard. He was an avid boxing and baseball fan and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Faye Folds, Johneen King, and Margie Bludsworth. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Earleen Herring Bludsworth, Daleville, one daughter, Annise Maund, Daleville, one son, Johnny Luther Bludsworth, Daleville, three sisters, Willene Cook and her husband, Jimmy, Newton, Virginia Duffy, Newton, and Sally Mae Corley, Elba, three brothers, Charlie Bludsworth, Dothan, Curtis Bludsworth and his wife, Elsie, Sacramento, California, and Luther Bludsworth and his wife, Levennia, Elba. Nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive. Service Information
