Obituary of Beatrice Paulk Peacock

Mrs. Beatrice Paulk Peacock, age 93, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, January 16, 2006. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Stone and Reverend W. L. Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Peacock's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Tuesday evening. Mrs. Peacock was born October 24, 1912 in Ariton, to the late Diteous Paulk and Elvie Olive Beasley. She was a lifelong resident of Dale County, and a charter member of Southside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked for 17 years in the elementary school lunchroom at Fort Rucker. Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her husband, Lunae Peacock, and two sisters, Thelma Patterson and Mildred Danner. Survivors include three daughters, Janice McFadden and her husband, Eugene, Mobile; Elvie Nicholson, Augusta, Ga.; and Rene Green and her husband, Jerry, Mobile, one son Melvin Peacock and his wife, Winnell, Ozark, one sister, Annie Sutton, Dothan, eleven grandchildren, Allen Peacock and wife, Cindy; Mark Peacock and wife, Jennifer; David Peacock and wife, Cyndi; Roxie Schlotzhauer and husband, Tim; Charles McFadden and wife, Patsy; Renee McFadden; Pam Pope and husband, Mike; James Nicholson and wife, Beth; Trixie Smith; Raymond Smith and wife, Becky; Teresa Haddan and husband, Jeff. 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 902 South Hwy 123, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
