Dr. John A. Ennis, age 56, of Ozark, died early Saturday morning, August 20, 2005, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 7:00 P. M. Monday evening, August 22, 2005, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark, with Reverend Charles McCabe officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, August 26, 2005, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, with interment to follow, Dougherty Funeral Home of Levittown, Pennsylvania directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 5:00 P. M. until service time at 7:00 P. M. Monday. Dr. Ennis was born December 25, 1948, in Kirksville, Missouri and grew up in Penndel, Pennsylvania. He attended Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his D. O. Degree in 1985. He practiced in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1985 until 2002 when he came to Ariton Medical Clinic and became disabled on June 3, 2005. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Ozark, and the American Osteopathic Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoinette Constance Spada Ennis and Gordon John Ennis, and his sister, Maria Elaine Ennis. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ennis, Ozark, three sons, Andrew Ennis, Philadelphia, Michael Ennis, Ozark, and Christopher Ennis, Philadelphia, one sister, Diane Harris and her husband, Walter, Wilmington, North Carolina, three brothers, Gordon Ennis and his wife, Kathleen, Cos Cob, Connecticut, James Ennis and his wife, Nancy, Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and Gregory Ennis, Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to St. Johns Catholic Church, Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 1008, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
