Obituary of Virginia Byrd Sansbury

Mrs. Sansbury was born in Ozark and raised in the Post Oak community before moving to Daleville, where she taught school for 32 years until her retirement in 1977. As a first-grade teacher for most of her career, she made a lasting impression on her students, who remembered her fondly many years after being in her class. She was a faithful member of Daleville United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary and the Polynesian Sunset Garden Club. In 1983 she was named Daleville's Super Senior Citizen of the Year by the Daleville Pilot Club.
