Mr. John Mitchell Kent, Sr., 81, of Ozark, died Monday, October 18, 2004, at his home. A memorial service was held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday morning, October 21, 2004 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Isom Hill officiating. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark in charge of arrangements. Mr. Kent was born March 25, 1923, a native of Chipley, Florida. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Kent lived in Tallahassee, Florida for many years where he owned and operated Jack's Wrecker, Paint and Body Shop. He then returned to Chipley where he lived the remainder of his life. Mr. Kent had been with his daughter in Ozark for the past few months. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Gilbert Kent. Survivors include one daughter, Ann Peters and her husband, Tim, Ozark, three sons, James Kent and his wife, Diane, Cleveland, Georgia, John M. Kent, Jr., Chipley, Florida, and Robert Kent, Chipley, Florida, one sister, Doris Payne, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and one nephew, Bill Payne.
