Obituary of Roy H. Stafford

Mr. Roy H. Stafford, age 82, of Clio, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, in a Dothan Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, from the Elamville Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Kenneth Earles and the Reverend Ray Giles officiating. Interment will follow in Elam Cemetery with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. His body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Tuesday. Visitation will be in Elamville Assembly of God Church Sanctuary from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening. Mr. Stafford was a native of Barbour County and a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He was a member and served on the Church Board of Trustees of Elamville Assembly of God Church. For over ten years he was a member of the Clio Fire and Rescue Squad and was retired from the Barbour County Road Department after 28 years. Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Henrietta Sutton Stafford, his daughter, Marsha Joan Stafford in 1962, his sister, Dorothy Reed, and his brother, Maurice C. Andrews. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Miriam Woodard Stafford, Clio, one son and daughter-in-law, Sherman and Janiece Stafford of Troy, three sisters, Mrs. Lena Bell Smith of Clio, Mrs. Betty Garner of Ozark, and Mrs. Martha Green of Dothan, three grandchildren and their spouses, Craig and Becky Stafford of, Midland City, Angie and Chris Folkes of Abbeville, and Shaniece and Jeremy Price of Banks, five great grandchildren, Alexandra Folkes, Madison Folkes, Anna Price, Ryan Price, and Dakota Stafford. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his fellow workers with the Barbour County Road Department. Service Information
