Mrs. Bernice Edmonds Edgar, age 91, of the Rocky Head Community, died Thursday evening, July 5, 2007, in Dale Medical Center following a long illness. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Sunday, July 8, 2007, from Rocky Head Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Underwood and Reverend Ron Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Her body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Sunday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. Saturday evening. Mrs. Edgar was born May 8, 1916 in Dale County to the late Buner Langford Edmonds and James Allen Edmonds. She was a member of Rocky Head Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edgar was preceded in death by her husband, Rayford Max Edgar. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Frank Jacobs of Ariton, one son and daughter-in-law, James Rayford and Sue Edgar of Ariton, five grandsons, Keith and Shanna Edgar, Kris and Linda Edgar, Kevin and Belinda Edgar, Gregory Jacobs, Bradley and Rebecca Jacobs, five great grandchildren, Justin Edgar, Mary Grace Edgar, Kyle Jacobs, Nathan Jacobs, and Miriam Jacobs, and brother-in-law, Charles Edgar of Ozark. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Mt. Olive Cemetery Fund, C/O Mrs. Verma Willoughby, P. O. Box 664, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
