Obituary of Gladys Johns Herring

Mrs. Herring was born January 1, 1925 in Dale County to the late Lummie Lou Davis Johns and Charlie Clayborn Johns. She made her home in Clio with her late husband, Therman Herring, for 50 years until his death in December 1996, and then moved to Louisville. Mrs. Herring was of the Presbyterian faith. She had worked as a supervisor in various textile factories in Ozark, Clio, and Louisville. Her parents, her husband, two sisters, Shirley Spurlock and Hazel Morris, and two brothers, Jack Johns and Ross Johns, preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Joan Markovich, Binghamton, New York, one son, Allen Herring, and his wife, Peggy, Louisville, four grandchildren, Russell Herring, Greg Herring, Jeffery Markovich, and Stacey Markovich, one great granddaughter, Raegan Herring, five sisters, Pat Johnson, St. Augustine, Florida, Dorothy Johnson, Skipperville, Charlene Roberts, Albany, Georgia, Dale Spivey, Ozark, and Betty Rogers, Ozark, two brothers, Ryan Johns and John Junior Johns, Ozark.
