Obituary of Larry Downing

Mr. Larry Downing, age 60, of Ozark, died early Sunday morning, January 14, 2007, in a Dothan hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Tom Skeen and Reverend Jeff Downing officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Monday evening. Mr. Downing was born October 1, 1946 in Dale County to the late Atris Inez Hyatt Downing and James Isaac "Dude" Downing. Mr. Downing served in the Army National Guard and worked with Medford Lincoln Mercury in Dothan for over 20 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather,and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Mary Pridgen Downing of Ozark, one daughter and son-in-law, Senia and Kenny Casey of Ozark, two sons and daughters-in-law, Clay and Kelly Anderson Downing of Ozark, and Brian and Maranda Leatherwood of Dothan, one sister, Kathy Cole of Rocky Head, one brother, Landon Downing of Malvern, one half brother, Melvin Downing of Rocky Head, four grandchildren, Kaiti and Kennon Casey, Tucker Downing, and Gabrielle Leatherwood. One aunt, three uncles, and many special friends also survive. The family would like to thank all of his co-workers and the many friends that were gained from Mr. Downing's association with Medford Lincoln Mercury.
